Running, Resting, & Feeling Content

It’s time for some life updates—other than being tired and overworked. Life’s actually been pretty good. I’m back into training for a half marathon, which means I’m constantly in a state of hunger, but honestly I’m just happy to know my body can still run.

I’m also really excited because it’s about to be my favorite time of year…fall camping season. That means I get to escape from all my responsibilities on the weekends and forget about my entire existence for a while. What a dream. I cannot wait.

Lately, I’ve been feeling very content. I’m not exactly sure why, but I just feel calm. I think it’s because of the breeze that drifts through my apartment when I have the porch door and all the windows open. Something about the curtains flowing around makes me happy—it’s like perfect reading weather, even though I haven’t actually been reading. Instead, I’ve been sleeping. A lot.

In the past two days, I think I’ve slept about 24 hours, which feels like a real accomplishment for me. The kicker, though, is that my “body battery” never seems to get above 75. At this point, I swear I’d need a tranquilizer to get the kind of deep sleep it would take to finally hit 100. It’s been my goal for the last year. Maybe one day…a girl can dream.
